Build Your Career with Parallel Music Conference.

Parallel music conference '26

Real Talk. Real Connections. Real Growth.

Parallel Music Conference was born in 2024 with a singular focus: to empower the next generation of artists and industry professionals right here on the South Coast.

The music industry can often feel like a closed circuit, but we believe the path to success shouldn’t be a mystery. Based in the heart of Southampton, Parallel serves as a vital link in the music ecosystem—helping creators of all backgrounds navigate their careers with confidence.

WHAT HAPPENS AT PMC?

Parallel Music Conference is a high-energy blend of deep dive learning and real world networking. We strip away the gatekeeping to give you a front-row seat to how the music industry actually works. Over the course of the event, you can expect:

  • Expert Panels: Hear directly from UK-wide industry leaders from label bosses and artist managers to radio presenters and festival bookers—as they discuss the future of the music ecosystem.

  • Practical Workshops: Hands-on sessions designed to give you tangible skills, covering everything from music production and branding to “going freelance” and navigating sync and publishing.

  • The Parallel Breakfast Club: Kick off your mornings at Mettricks for casual coffee and conversations with fellow attendees and speakers before the sessions begin.

  • Networking Mixers: Dedicated social events where the barriers are dropped, allowing local artists, industry pros, and the “next generation” to connect, collaborate, and share ideas

  • Interactive Q&As: Your chance to get specific. We host several panels so you can get the direct advice you need for your specific career path.

WHERE IS THE CONFERENCE?

Parallel takes place in the heart of Southampton’s Cultural Quarter. We utilize the city’s premier academic and social spaces to create a campus-style experience around Guildhall Square. Everything is within a five-minute walk, making it easy to jump between sessions and networking spots. For 2026, our hubs include:

  • The Spark Building (Solent University): Our main stage for keynote panels and industry insights.

  • Sir James Matthews Building (University of Southampton): The home of our deep-dive workshops and production masterclasses.

  • Mettricks Guildhall Square: The official spot for our Morning Breakfast Club and casual industry mixers.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

In short: Everyone. Parallel is built on the belief that the music industry should be accessible to all backgrounds. Whether you are already established or just starting out, there is a place for you here. Specifically, this conference is for:

  • Artists & Creators: Musicians, songwriters, and producers looking to sharpen their craft and understand the business.

  • Aspiring Professionals: Students and freelancers aiming to build a career in management, marketing, booking, or PR.

  • The Industry Curious: Fans and creatives who want a “behind-the-scenes” look at how the modern music ecosystem actually functions.

  • Local Leaders: Established professionals from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight areas looking to connect with national peers.

Whether you’re here to learn, network, or champion the local scene, your voice is welcome at the table.
